he traditional Halloween tour with the Company of Mysterious Journeys is a fun Dracula tour rather than the high adventure of the Ultimate Tour. It is based around banquets and parties culminating in the Halloween Masked Ball. The tour itself concentrates on the legend of Vlad the Impaler in Wallachia and south-east Transylvania.
27 OCTOBER - 2 NOVEMBER (7 days/ 6 nights)
The first night is spent in Bucharest with a city tour the following morning. You then learn about Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) as you cross his domains of Wallachia to reach the beautiful old town of Curtea de Arges and then his castle ruins deep in the Carpathians at Poienari. A night is spent in farmhouses in the nearby village of Aref with traditional cooking and a show Night of Dracula. You then move over the Carpathians to Count Draculas Chalet (Acasa la Dracula) in the mountain resort of Poiana Brasov. From there you explore Brasov and enjoy a mediaeval floorshow and banquet in the citadel, a night at a famous traditional restaurant, the Miss Transylvania show, investiture of Countess Dracula and the Halloween Ball.

Optional: In the evening of Halloween you will be offered an opportunity to become a noble by joining the Order of Transylvanian Knights (additional fee). You will be schooled into Knightly Orders, then taken to the Sacred Zone, then to the citadel. The Castellan and his court of knights, ladies-in-waiting and pages will advise and guide you through the six tests of chivalry - archery, arm-wrestling, walking on a beam, jumping a fire, answering a riddle and dancing a minuet! Should you pass the tests (and many do) then investiture ceremonies will commence. Minimum of 10 participants required; additional cost.
