A very special hotel, in a carefully restored historic building in the pedestrain zone beside Piata Sfatului (away from the road). This hotel will follow the same pattern as its popular sister hotel in Sighisoara, retaining the historic architecture and atmosphere of the building and using antique furniture throughout. All rooms will comprise en suite bathrooms, a wide range of facilities and will be to a high standard of quality. This is likely to be a very popular choice so advance reservations will be required for the busy seasons to avoid disappointment.

Possibly the better of the main. large resort hotels in Poiana Brasov (e.g. Alpin, Ciucas, etc) with 175 rooms with en suite bathrooms, cable TV and phone. The Piatra Mare has an excellent hilltop position overlooking the resort, forest and surrounding mountains. The hotel was recently refurbished and provides good facilities including a large swimming pool, sauna, restaurant, bars, cafe, conference hall, laundry service, parking and ski school during winter when it is very popular. Overpriced over Christmas and New Year as is the case with most hotels in this ski resort. The Hotel Alpin. located in the centre Poiana Brasov, is another large resort hotel offering similar facilities including a large swimming pool. The standards are lower than Piatra Mare and this is reflected in the lower prices.
A very pleasant private hotel situated near the Miorita Lake and with excellent views to the ski slopes, ideal for those who are looking for something more intimate. The Royal offers 17 large double rooms and 14 apartments, all wlegantly furnished with en suite bathrooms, cable TV, minibar, fridge, and telephone. Additional facilities include a restaurant, bar and laundry services.

This villa lies on a solitary plateau some 500 m from Bran village and castle and comprises two apartments, each with a living room and two bedrooms, and 14 double rooms on three floors. All rooms have en suite bathroom and cable TV.
Vila Bran is a modern Pension situated on a hillock overlooking the valley and Bran Castle. It comprises a mixture of comfortable double rooms, most with en suite facilties in addition to a restaurant and a large garden.
The 'House of the Counts' is a charming pension situated 200 metres from the centre of Râsnov, and nestled beneath the dramatic Râsnov Fortress. This pension is situared in the beautiful, rambling Moieciu valley at an altitude of 1050m with views of both the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains. It comprises two modern buildings, the second of which comprises 6 rooms with en suite bathrooms. The pension is set in extensive ground on a hillside with extensive views of the surrounding mountains.
This small, private hotel on the edge of Harman is a fascinating mix of traditional and contemporary combining modern design with antique furniture, within an historic Saxon house meticulously renovated by the owner who is also a reputable architect. The dining room also doubles as a gallery showcasing modern art and biedermeier furniture, and the floor may be strewn with fresh hay as a ratrher bizarre touch.

The Marami is a good choice if you are seeking a more intimate select hotel. It offers very comfortable rooms and suites with all the usual facilities and is located above the resort amidste the trees beside the peaceful Royal Palace complex,
Generally rated as 3-star, the Economat is a delightful historic building which occupies part of the complex incorporating the Royal Palaces of Peles and Pelisor, amidst the trees on the slopes above the town. The restaurant is very good but facilities are relatively limited and the rooms are clean but in need of refurbishment. Good alternative choice and still reasobnable value.

Busteni caters mainly for mountain walkers and is the starting point for many walks on the Caraiman and in the Bucegi Mountains. The dramatic Caraiman cable car departs from the resort centre. A simple hotel with comfortable rooms located on a wooded ledge overlooking Lake Vidraru on the road to the Transfagarasan Highway (Curtea de Arges - Sibiu). This is one of the few hotels in this dramatic area and provides easy access to the high Fagaras Mountains, in addition to being a useful stopover on the Dracula trail since it is close to the castle ruins at Poienari. It is particular popular with anglers who come here to fish trout in the 'Valley of Fishes' (Valea de Pesti) and is also highly regarded for the fresh fish dishes served in the restaurant.
