"We are now back from our MARVELLOUS visit to Romania. Everything went like clockwork thanks to your superb arrangements. We were blessed with heavenly weather every day and all enjoyed ourselves hugely. Mirela Iurca's cooking was particularly enjoyed by us all at the expense of our waistlines and both George and Sorin were superb and thoughtful guides. Both the Fullton and Hilde's residence were excellent and convenient choices to stay. The staff in both places were nice too. The painted monasteries were beyond magical, speaking as someone who was underwhelmed by the noisy and unspiritual atmosphere of the Sistene Chapel the monasteries of Bucovina are for me a great wonder of the world with which the Sistene does not stand comparison. I can't wait to go again and am just thinking shall it be Iasi or Timisoara."
E.A. (South Wales)

"A lovely trip, very enjoyable, thanks. Maria Manta'a house, her attention to detail was first class. A lovely family. A.P. (Co.Meath)

"We would recommend Romania to others. We would certainly recommend your organisation. Cluj was an interesting city - the presence of a university gave it an extra dimension. The Hotel Fullton was cosy and the young staff friendly. The train journey to Viseu was a good way to see town and countryside. Accommodation in Botiza was comfortable, food was healthy and abundant and the hosts were thoughtful. A memorable holiday. Thank you." D.H. (Suffolk)

"It was a great holiday; every single aspect at least lived up to expectations and, in many cases, surpassed them. Very impressed with all the hotels, both for their quality, but especially for location. Particular mention should go to Casa Elena, which was lovely, and Casa Wagner in Brasov, for its excellent location and great view over the square. Absolutely delighted with Kalnoky's - and glad it lived up to the very high expectations we had of it. The 2 Monas and Charlie were delightful hosts, the food and wine were great, and it was a fascinating insight into the local way of life.

We were particularly impressed with the smooth running of the logistics throughout the trip. The trains were never more than a few minutes late departing, and all very comfortable (if a little hot on occasion!). It made me laugh to think of a recent client of mine who had some transfers not materialise in Vancouver, when we were met perfectly punctually by a horse and cart in Lunca Ilvei! Also, the transfer from Piatra Fantinele to Sighisoara rates special mention - we weren't expecting anyone with great English and a brand new Mercedes. Raul was a top bloke!

Out of all the great experiences, a couple of highlights really stand out:
1. Borgo Pass. We loved Hotel Castel Dracula, it was great fun, and in a stunning location, but the horse and cart ride up through the forest was an attraction worth selling in itself. A beautiful ride and a great experience. We loved turning up to the door to the amzement of the other tourists in their cars!
2. Kalnoky's - just great in every respect." D.& A.O. (East Sussex)

"Have just got back from Romania and wanted to say many thanks to you for organising it all. It was a wonderful weekend and nothing could have made it better - except perhaps a little more sunshine. George was a great guide and we really loved our two days walking round Botiza, staying in his house and particularly enjoying his wife's amazing, organic home cooking. We got a real taste of the country and we will definitely be going back to walk and eat some more." P.H. (Salisbury)

"Thanks had a great holiday, great place, lovely people." N.McC. (Essex)

"We wish to thank you so much for putting together such a wonderful trip for us. And, doing it on rather short notice. I'd highly recommend you to anyone. It was great to just enjoy everything without having to figure out any of the details for ourselves. The accommodation was wonderful in both places. Ioane, her husband, and mother are such delightful people I had tears in my eyes as she and I shared a goodbye hug. We enjoyed both our guides, George in particular - I think he is a 'national treasure'! His love of Maramures, its people, traditions and natures in general, is so obvious and genuine. His knowledge of the area and history added a lot to what we came away with. Romania is a country that I definitely want to see more of. Such wonderful people, beautiful places. The food is really good too. C.A. (California)

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, learned a lot, and realised we couldn't have survived without your itinerary which worked really well. We particularly enjoyed Sinaia, Sighisoara and Sibiu and the hotels we stayed in. Emilia from Rodna Autos was very helpful, and I am sure would be an asset to any business. However, we were surprised at the volume of traffic everywhere. Jez and Di's B&B was immaculate and the food was very good. A.Y. (Harrogate)

"We have arrived home safely, tired and enthused, after what was probably our best holiday ever. Your arrangements on our behalf were excellent. I must thank you for dealing with them at such short notice. George's insight, knowledge and sensitivity in dealing witrh his clients gave us an understanding of a wonderful country in a way we could not have suspected possible. He enabled us to see a little of who the people of Maramures are. That is a gift we shall treasure greatly." D.W.( Aberystwyth)

"Thank you very much indeed for arranging what was a wonderful holiday for us in Romania. Although I had a good idea of what we were in for, both of us would say, that without doubt, it exceeded all our expectations. All the arrangements you made, the meet & greet at Viseu de Jos and Sibiu, and at Cluj at the beginning and end of the holiday, where the Fullton was so well situated in the heart of the old quarter, worked out faultlessly, as too did the trains. The family at the Casa Sidau in Botiza were very kind and friendly, the accommodation spotless, and George a very helpful, kowledgeable and reliable guide to introduce us to the history and way of life of Maramures. It would be impossible to overemphasize the welcome and friendliness shown to us by Diana and Jeremy in Cisnadioara, where we spent a wonderful second week, The food and accommodation was superb, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They took us out all over what is a very attractive area, and on occasion, out to lunch or dinner in typical Romanian restaurants. We even did a bit of exploring for the remains of the Sibiu-Agnita railway. We will certainly be going back again next year. R.& H.H. (Woking)

"Just returned from the Ultimate Halloween tour and would just like to thank you for a wonderful experience. Special mention must go to the guide Ramona, one could have not wished for a better, more professional, well informed FUN guide, She is a truly wonderful person and a joy to be around!" D.&J.K. (Derbyshire)

"Just to say a big thank you for organising our trip for us, everything went like clockwork. We had an absolutely fabulous time, it's a trip we'll never forget. I'm recommending Romania and your service to anyone who will listen!"
C.P. (Sheffield)

"Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed the Romania trip and will definitely consider travelling back to Romania in the future. The hotel in Bucharest (Tania) was nice and the staff very friendly. It was also in a good location with sights nearby. Our tour of Maramures was excellent - George showed us around many interesting places and I managed to get some great photographs in the process. I thought what we were charged for his services was also very reasonable. The food was excellent - there was so much of it!. Bucovina was also very enjoyable and the guide who showed us around for the day had a very good knowledge of the area." I.C. (Aberdeen)

"We thoroughly enjoyed the itinerary you provided for us for the past 2 weeks in Romania - a beautiful and fascinating country. Our guide to the Painted Monasteries, Sorin, was excellent, as were our stays in Bucharest, Voronet, Cluj and Sighisoara. We found enormous contrasts between city and country which we thought didn't exist in modern Europe, Thanks very much.
C.&V. T. (Nottinghamshire)

"Just to let you know that we had a fabulous holiday in Romania. What a wonderful country it is. All your arrangements wnet like clockwork except that we got off the train at Suceava instead of Suceava Nord - but Sorin came and collected us. Sorin was a wonderful guide and took good care of us, as did all the staff at Miclosoara. They couldn't have been kinder ande it has a wonderful atmosphere. Many thanks. J.F. (Norwich)

"Just had to let you know what a wonderful holiday we had. The organisation was brilliant and everyone was so friendly and accommodating. A very special thanks to John Matthews who was excellent, making the Romanian part of our holiday really superb. Please pass on our sincere thanks. The Villa Jasmine (Bulgaria) was great and Vessey was very helpful. Overall a really exciting and relaxing holiday which was truly a trip full of memories to treasure. THANK YOU." JK & Family (Wirral)

"It was a most interesting and enjoyable holiday, which we could certainly not have arranged ourselves, and we have experienced and learned a huge amount about a very fascinating and diverse country. You must have spent a lot of time and trouble making the arrangements, so thankyou very much indeed. " J.N. (London N3)

"What a trip, the best yet, bith successful and enjoyable. The best balanced trip out of our five visits. Thanks from the four of us for the organisation" DB (Cheshire)

"Hi - just got back - a really fantastic holiday - what an amazing place" T.H. (London W14)

"This is just to say waht a wonderful guide Sorin was for the Painted Monasteries; he really made our trip. His technical knowledge of the icons as well as his enthusiasm was wonderful. Alll the meet and greets went well so it was very unstressful. HH (East Sussex)

"Just writing to thankyou for our fantastic holiday in Maramures and at Count Kalnoky's. It was absolutely brilliant and you were completely right about Maramures. Our hosts were amazing and even provided us with national costumes to go to church in. The organisation was flawless, accommodation without fault, and people we met were brilliant! I won't go on and on about how great it was because you know already. I will recommend you further ..." IB (Birmingham)

"A unique and joyous experience. Was handled by 'Transylvania Uncovered' and felt secure in the city of Iasi which is not widely known as a tourist destination. All the travel arrangements worked out well and the Romanian people are very hospitable once you get to know them. I had such a good time that I cried when I left! I highly recommended the Hotel Moldova's refurbished apartments as very large, and definitely value for money compared to UK prices. Finally, really struggled to spend more than £20 per day as everything so cheap. As long as you tip everyone at least 10000 Lei (20p to us) they will be ecstatic! Thanks for all the advice and time spent on my never ending requests." VPD (Bournemouth)

"I feel I should thankyou for helping to organise our honeymoon in Transylvania. We had the most fantastic time. Count Kalnoky's, the food, the people, the scenery, the alcohol!  Wow what a place.  We are even considering buying a small property in the village, it's such a beautiful place.  They treated us like royalty. We had champagne in our room. We had the whole house to ourselves, met the Count. We even managed to go bear tracking, much to M's (our guide) distaste!  We were walking from village to village, through the forest, when we met a  farmer. He sent us in the right direction, (as we were lost!) and got chatting. It turned out that he was the forester & offered to take us into the forest at dusk. We saw a bear, lots of boar, deer & hares. I must say it was the best evening of our holiday.  The weather was very warm, one day of drizzle, and I really wish we'd had two weeks. Every evening we sat outside the little 'pub' and watched the cows coming home! People , at home, don't believe that they come home on their own! Thankyou so much for our wonderful holiday." N.B. (Warwick)

It seems so trite to say "thank you" but nevertheless true for arranging such a varied and interesting itinerary for us during our stay in Romania. Sorin Fodor was a splendid guide - always punctual, courteous and helpful in answering our endless questions about Romania, and his love and knowledge about the monasteries.' S.C. (Chester)

'We both loved our time in Romania. Thank you for making such imaculate arrangements. We can both quite see why you are seduced by it, and its people." R.W. (London)

"I thought I would just drop you a line to say everyone has returned safe and sound from Romania and have thoroughly enjoyed their trip. They said Sighisoara was fantastic, and they had dinner at Caru cu Bere in Bucharest and ended up dancing to Romanian folk music" Fashion Group (UK)

"This was a most enjoyable and interesting holiday. The tour of Bucharest and, in particular the visit to the village museum was of great interest, and our young English speaking driver was able to give us an insight into the recent history of the country. The main purpose of our visit was, of course, to visit the Painted Monasteries of the Bucovina. This surpassed all expectations. We found the monasteries marvellous. Our visit was greatly enhanced by Sorin Fodor, our guide and driver, of whom neither my wife nor I can speak too highly. Quite apart from being a skilled driver and a good English speaker his enthusiasm and knowledge of the area and the monasteries waqs excellent and we would be grateful if you would pass on our thanks to him for the wonderful time he gave us. The friendliness of all the staff at Casa Elena also added to our enjoyment of the area."
JH (Dorset)

"We had a fabulous holiday in Transylvania and having you organise so much of it made it so much easier to enjoy. We had a great time, especially at the Count's but everywhere else was fascinating and enjoyable too."
RM (London)

"Just to say we are having an excellent time in Eforie Nord, Hotel Phoenix is great - perfect for all our differing ages. I thank you for steering us clear of something a little less expensive. The prospect of pumping music next door would have driven my parents to despair!!! Thanks again." W,D. (Norfolk, UK)

"Just to let you know that our holiday was just perfect. Our friends were really impressed with my choice of holiday, and how well it had been arranged. Count Kalnoky and his staff made it memorable and we all agreed that we would like to return, perhaps during a different season. Once again than you for your contribution."
M.B. (Bucks,UK)

"We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Hungary and Romania. The old dictator's house in Timisoara was interesting and we were upgraded to a huge 3 room suite, probably Ceausescu's own! Good food in teh restaurant and extremely good value." N.F. (Sweden)

"This is just a quick note to let you know that we have arrived home safe and sound after a lovely holiday that went exactly to plan. As always there were times when things were not as we expected/ imagined but that is the charm/ excitement of every holiday. We both had a great time and met some lovely people, especially at Miclosoara, where everyone were so friendly and welcoming, they made our stay memorable. Thank you again for your help and exceptional organisation." R.C. (London)

"I have just arrived back from Bucharest. Excellent service, on time, well driven, friendly and genuinely nice driver. Well done! I'll be in touch again." D.C. (London)

Just to say thank you for arranging our trip. Wehad a wonderful time and managed to find my mother-in-law's house and various other places she wanted to see once more. Everything went very smoothly and we found the Romanian people delightful. Fortunately the temperature didn't quite get to 40 which was a relief as the trains were very hot, but people love to chat and try out their command of the English language so the train journeys pass very quickly. We even came across a few people who still speak thye old Saxon dialect so mum was thrilled to bits. Thank you again for the arrangements; we would certainly recommend Romania, and your company, to our friends." J.S. (Suffolk, UK)

"We returned this week from a most delightful holidy in Romania and want to thank you for all that you did to make the necessary arrangements. All worked wonderfully well and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in that beautiful country. We were a little apprehensive when we met at Simeria and learned that we were being looked after by the teenage sons of the family at Casa Bunea, but we were well looked after and taken on the various trips. Corvin Castle was magnificent, better than I expected, and Colt Castle was a surprise. I had found no reference to it elsewhere. We also were delighted with Timaisoara where we had an excellent and most informative city tour. We shall certainly recommend 'Transylvania Uncovered' to any friends who show an interest in that part of the world. Please keep us informed of any new developments you plan. Thank you again." R.O. (Wilts,UK)

" I just write to thank you for everything. The trip to Roumania was fantastic. I think I will go back some day, but this time during the winter.   Please send my greetings to Tibor, Levente, Julian and all the nice people you are working with. They made my stay in Roumania to be really great.   Thanks again"   EPT. (Mexico City)

"Just a note to thank you for arranging our Romanian Holiday for us. It was absolutely wonderful and I thought that even the Rough Guide did not do justice to some areas. Everything went according to plan and in terms of problems it was totally uneventful." NG (Pimlico, UK)

"Thankyou for helping arrange our recent trip to Romania. We had a great time despite the changable weather! The homes that had been arranged for us to stay in were superb and we were treated like Kings & Queens. Romania is a beautiful country and the people are so hospitable, and every time we return home we leave our hearts there"
BN (Suffolk, UK)

"We would like to thank you for your help in giving us a wonderful holiday in Romania. We stayed at Cerbul Carpatin on your recommendation and found the people, the atmosphere o be absolutely wonderful. We therefore thank you and would like to use you again - next year to (a) revisit Cerbul Carpatin, and (b) go further afield to Brasov District. Again many thanks for your help and we look forward to our next visit to Romania" FS (West Yorkshire, UK)
